Hanka Mittelstädt visiting DiGOS

Hanka Mittelstädt, Brandenburg’s Minister for Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection, visited DiGOS.

Hanka Mittelstädt

We were pleased to welcome Hanka Mittelstädt, Brandenburg’s Minister for Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection, to DiGOS.

During the visit, we presented our fibre optic sensing technology Phosaris and discussed how intelligent infrastructure monitoring can contribute to more resilient infrastructure in Brandenburg.

Using fibre optic sensing (FOS), existing and future fibre infrastructure can become a large-scale sensor system capable of continuously monitoring critical infrastructure such as dikes, bridges, roads, buildings, geothermal facilities and energy infrastructure over many kilometres in real time.

A particular focus of the discussion was the potential for dike monitoring in Brandenburg. Our technology enables the early detection of ground movements, vibrations and structural changes — helping to identify risks before visible damage occurs and supporting long-term infrastructure resilience.

Beyond individual applications, we shared our vision of Brandenburg as a real-world laboratory for intelligent and resilient infrastructure:
developing, testing and operating innovative monitoring technologies directly in practical infrastructure projects — made in Brandenburg and scalable internationally.

We highly appreciated the open exchange about innovation, infrastructure resilience and the opportunity to strengthen Brandenburg as a visible location for high-tech infrastructure solutions and real-world applications.
